FREEPORT – Kenneth Monroe Webster Jr., 73, a former resident of North Mountain Road, Greene, died Friday evening, Oct. 22, at The Hawthorne House following a long illness.

He was born in Auburn, Oct. 15, 1931, the son of Kenneth M. and Lillie (Buck) Webster Sr. He was educated in the grammar schools of Wales and was a graduate of Monmouth Academy.

Mr. Webster served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then for several years with The Air National Guard of Bangor.

On Nov. 21, 1964, he married the former Barbara A. (Withers) in Minot. She died June 19,1995. Mr. Webster was employed for most of his life as a truck driver, the majority of his career with Decoster Egg Farms of Turner, but had also been employed with Twin City fruit and other local trucking carriers. He also more recently volunteered with community concepts as a driver.

Mr. Webster was an avid outdoors man having been an enthusiastic deer hunter being a member of the Biggest Bucks in Maine Club. He also hunted birds and rabbits and enjoyed fishing.

“Kenny’s” greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his entire extended family. He was a very family oriented man and worked hard to provide for his wife and children. He made it a point, to follow, and be a part of his children and their families many interests.

Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Kim Carpentier, of Brunswick; two sons, Kevin M. Webster, of Lewiston and Greg M. Webster, of Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Erlene) Chick, of Winthrop; one brother, Donald Webster, of Wales; five grandchildren, Paul, Michael, Matthew, Brianna and Jacob.

He was predeceased by a brother, Bob Webster.
