PARIS – Oxford County hosted seven parties as part of Congressman Mike Michaud’s Night of 100 House parties on Sept. 26, with more than 100 attending.

Parties were hosted by Jan Kubiac in Albany, Lynn Baker in Waterford, Miriam Laster in Norway, Jim and Rosemary McLean in Greenwood, Cynthia Willets in Brownfield, Alan Whittemore in Fryeburg and Anita Pottle and Lee Holman in Hartford.

Previous house parties on Sept. 4 and 19 were hosted in Rumford by Joe and Pat Sirois and John Patrick and in Porter by Charlotte Fullam and Doug Bowen. The total of 10 parties in Oxford County met the goal established by the county committee.

Sen. Bruce Bryant has returned from the Council of State Governments Conference for Legislative Leaders and is on the campaign trail.

Marge Medd, candidate for Senate in District 13, and Margaret Reimer, House candidate in District 98, were guests of honor at the opening of the Bridgton office on Oct. 1, sponsored by the Lake Regions Democratic Caucus, the Bridgton Democrats and the Cumberland and Oxford county committees. Several debate watching parties were held on Sept. 30, including one at the Norway Field Office.

Oxford Hills area candidates participated in the Oxford Hills Chamber candidate forum on Sept. 30.

The Oxford County Committee’s Candidate Tabloid with pictures and profiles of the candidates is available in the field offices in Norway, Bethel, Bridgton and Mexico. The publication provides background information on the candidates and information on the activities of the Oxford County Democrats.
