LEWISTON – Lillian G. Billings, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Oct. 27, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1921, in Lisbon Falls, the daughter of Carl Goddard and Leonice Chase. She graduated from Lisbon High School class of 1941. After high school, she worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C.

In March 1947, she married Royal A. Billings. They lived and raised their family in Lewiston. For many years, she was active with her alumni, raising money through garage sales for an alumni scholarship fund at Lisbon High School. This fund continues to provide money to a deserving senior going on to college.

She enjoyed playing bingo, and watching most sports. She’s been a devoted Red Sox fan for many years, and seeing them in the World Series gave her great joy. On her final night, the C-2 staff joined her in watching the game and kept her informed of all the plays.

Survivors include her son, Robert and his wife, Rachel, with whom she resided for the last 25 years; granddaughter, Angela and her special companion, Alex; her son, Richard and his family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1972. The family wishes to thank the staff of C-2 at St. Mary’s for the care and comfort given to Lillian during her final days.
