FARMINGTON – Milford Jordan, 85, of Dixfield, died early Thursday morning, Oct. 28, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born, Dec. 17, 1918, in Canton, a son of William M. and Pearl L. (Wallingford) Jordan.

He attended Canton schools and went on to serve in the Navy during World War II.

On Nov. 5, 1938, he married, Phyllis Wilson in Jay. They made their home in Dixfield for the past 57 years.

Mr. Jordan worked for Timberlands for 35 years, retiring in 1980.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flower and vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of nearly 66 years; three daughters, Janice Jackman and her husband, Harold, of East Livermore, Marcia Byron and her husband, Earl “Buddy,” of Rumford, and Becky Thibodeau and her husband, Bernie, of Rumford; one son, Duaine Jordan and his wife, Vivian, of Temple; a sister-in-law, Florence Jordan, of Canton; three sisters, Phyllis Briggs and her husband, Dale, of Dixfield, Shirley York and her husband, Tillie, of Canton, and Joyce LeVasseur, of Riley; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sons, Obed M. and William M. Jordan II, sisters, Arlene Girardin, Audrey Dixon, infant sister, Mary, brothers, Roy, Ernest, Harold, Kenneth, Chester, Neil, and young brother, Willie.
