LEWISTON – Jesus Party Pentecostal Kids’ Church junior staff member Japheth Taylor will host a Red Sox Rally, open to area children, at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at 291 Bates St.

The rally will take place regardless of the outcome of this year’s World Series and will be of religious nature, including prayer, a gospel sing-along and inspirational message. The ministry will show a video dealing with the importance of being a good role model.

Jesus Party Director Douglas Taylor will discuss different life lessons that can be learned from the game of baseball. Traditional ball game fare, such as ballpark franks, peanuts, crackerjacks and root beer, will be served. Those attending will also sing the seventh-inning song, “Take Me Out to the Old Ball Game.”

Children are encouraged to wear baseball apparel. There will be opportunities to win baseball memorabilia and the door prize for two winners will be a trip to Hadlock Field during the 2005 spring opening to see the Red Sox AA Affiliate team, the Portland Sea Dogs.

There will be no charge for the event. The Jesus Party is a nonprofit faith-based organization. Rides are available. For more information, call 786-5568.
