WOODSTOCK – At the October meeting of the Woodstock Historical Society, President Mary Billings announced the committees she had appointed.

The Finance Committee consists of Annella Burnham, Joyce Howe and Olive Risko; Building Committee, Paul Billings, Vicki May, Don Hoyt and Ken Hoyt; Research Committee, Ruth Cox, Elaine Roberts and Olive Risko; Program Committee, Vicki May, Kathleen Bean and Elena Noyes; Refreshment Committee, Annella Burnham and Joyce Howe.

Olive Risko discussed the 1927 graduation for a research report and identified many of the class members. She donated the program for that event to the society.

Curator Larry Billings said he would present the program on “Antique Stores in Our Area” for the November meeting, which is the society’s 25th anniversary. Treasurer Paul Billings asked the members vote to pay for a new TV as the old one was bad and the society shows many videos.

The program was a video on Baxter State Park. It showed much of the wildlife and discussed Gov. Baxter’s plan to conserve the park’s natural resources and allow the public to use it for recreation. Elena Noyes brought the video.

The next meeting is Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the museum.
