Bruce Hanley’s strong name presence in Paris gave him the edge over Terry Hayes in the race for House District 94.

Hayes took the smaller towns of Buckfield, 622-457; Hartford, 339-243; and Sumner, 269-200; where she is well known through her work as a 12-year veteran of the SAD 39 Board of Directors.

But Hanley’s 1,583-1,062 win in Paris, where his son Dana before him served in the same district, allowed him to win Tuesday’s race by 191 votes.

Hanley wants to work to improve the business climate in Maine, and bring state spending under control. A member of the Paris Republican Town Committee, Hanley is retired after serving as general manager of Falcon Shoe of Lewiston for 40 years.
