PARIS – The Western Maine Veteran’s Home Advisory Committee is once again offering a chance to honor friends and loved ones by lighting a bulb on the “Tree of Caring” at the Maine Veterans Home at Christmastime.

Bulbs in memory of a deceased loved one, who need not be a veteran, or to honor someone are $5 each. The proceeds received will be used for special activities and needs of the residents at the home.

To purchase a bulb or for more information, contact Florence McLaughlin, 8 Jackson’s Crossing Road, South Paris, ME 04281-6408. Checks should be made payable to Maine Veteran’s Advisory Committee.

The tree-lighting will be held at the Maine Veteran’s Home, 477 High St., at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Music will be provided by the Viking Voices. Refreshments will be served in the multipurpose activity room after the lighting.

The first three seasons of the caring tree were a great success.
