AUBURN – The Edward Little High School class of 1951 broke tradition and held a 53-year reunion with 56 members present at Lost Valley. The daylong celebration included brunch, conversation, a business meeting and dinner.

The business meeting involved the election of Barbara Hurley Bouchard and Joan Smith Lord as co-chairwomen for the 55-year reunion to be held at Lost Valley in July 2006.

Ralph “Woody” Hodgkins presented a report on the class-sponsored Donald Gay Scholarship Fund, which now exceeds $60,000. Four scholarships have been awarded over the past three years to Edward Little seniors making outstanding contributions to the school’s arts programs during their careers. Hodgkins announced the start of a $200 Club as an option for potential fund donors to support either on continuing annual or a one-time basis. Robert Gardner was elected as a fund trustee.

A period of silence was observed while a bell was sounded in memory of each departed class member. Monthly class of ’51 luncheon meetings continue to be held on the fourth Thursday at Rolandeau’s Restaurant in Auburn.
