LEWISTON – The United Baptist Church will celebrate the personnel of the armed forces during a special worship at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, service.

The men and women who have stood and are standing on the front line of defense will be recognized and prayers will be offered on their behalf. The church community salutes those who, by their dedicated duty, make it possible for all Americans to maintain a free democratic way of life.

The service will include prayers of thanksgiving for the past service and intercession prayers for present and future needs of the Armed Forces’ families. An assembly of uniformed military personnel will be in attendance at this service.

Community members who would like to recognize the veterans and those serving in the Armed Forces in prayer are invited to attend. Armed Forces personnel who can are encouraged to attend the service in uniform.

Community members may drop off or bring a photo of their family members and/or friends who have served or are in the military to be placed on a display table as part of the service whether they serve stateside or overseas. A special prayer will be offered for those having given their lives and/or are missing in action.
