LEWISTON – AARP Androscoggin Chapter 4077 will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The board of directors will meet at 12:30 p.m.

The speaker will be Kathleen Kienitz, an elder law attorney, whose subject will be “Giving Away My Assets to Qualify for Nursing Home Care.”

Kienitz is past chairwoman of the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar Association and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She has been a faculty member of the New England Elder Law Symposium in past years and lectures extensively on topics of long-term care and estate planning.

Kienitz is also a member of the trusts and estates section of the Maine Bar Association and the Androscoggin County Bar Association. Her publications include an article in the Maine Bar Journal on the recent law, which makes it a crime to transfer assets, and many articles on elder law and estate planning.

Anyone age 50 and over is invited to attend and to join the organization. Attendance and pot of gold drawings will be held, and refreshments will be served.
