PORTLAND – Anthony Robert “Tony” Maybury, 45, of South Portland, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 10, at a Portland hospital.

He was born in Lewiston on July 9, 1959, a son of Robert Maybury and Etta Cosgrove Maybury. He attended schools in Lewiston, and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of 1977. “Tony” also attended the University of Maine for two years.

At the time of his death, he was employed in Quality Control at Fairchild Semiconductor, where he had been employed for the past 17 years.

He married the former Anne Elizabeth Welch on April 9, 1983 in South Portland.

He was a devoted father and husband. When his son, Troy was younger, he coached his Little League team. He has also been an avid hockey fan, following his son’s career since Troy was 4 years old. Mr. Maybury also enjoyed playing the guitar.

Surviving are his parents, of Holiday, Fla.; his wife, Anne Welch Maybury and his son, Troy Maybury, both of South Portland; two brothers, Daniel Maybury, of Monmouth and Bernie Maybury, of Greene; a sister, Katie Paiton and her husband, George, of Minot; and several nieces and nephews.
