Society program

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the old Carthage School. Following a potluck supper and a short meeting there will be a program of special interest.

Nancy Porter of Farmington will tell of a discovery she made last winter when working in the Farmington Historical Society.

Dan Storer, born in Weld, started a journal in 1804 and continued it most of his life. He was one of the first settlers in Carthage, building his farm on Storer Hill. Many residents in Weld and Carthage are related to the Storer family and they would be especially welcome at this meeting.

Copies of information gleaned from his journal will be presented to the society.
