AUBURN – Pamela Murphy has joined the Child Health Center as director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program in Androscoggin, Oxford, northern Cumberland and southern Franklin counties.

In this position Murphy will oversee the mentoring coordinators for site and community based mentoring programs and will be the mentoring coordinator for the Auburn schools.

Prior to this, Murphy spent approximately four years working with at-risk juveniles and high-risk juvenile offenders with Volunteers of America’s Juvenile Day Reporting Center in Lewiston followed by service as a federally qualified health center and patient assistance case worker and a social worker and case manager for geriatric patients at Sisters of Charity Community Clinical Services in Lewiston.

Murphy, a native of Lewiston, graduated from Jay High School and attended the University of Maine in Farmington where she earned her B.A. degree in psychology.

Currently, she is attending the University of Southern Maine in Portland where she is working toward her master’s degree in social work.
