LEWISTON – Hilb Rogal and Hobbs/Northern New England (formerly the Dunlap Corp.) presented a $10,000 gift to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Hospice House Capital Campaign recently.

“One of HRH’s core values is community, which is certainly in keeping with the tradition the Dunlap family set in the Lewiston/Auburn area for generations. We are very pleased to continue in that tradition and to support such a meaningful and well deserved initiative such as the Journey of Hope project,” said Dennis Lundgren, president, Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs/Northern New England.

The gift was one of the first to the Journey of Hope Campaign to build Maine’s first hospice house serving residents of central and western Maine. AHCH expects to open the 14-patient suite hospice house on Stetson Road in Auburn in the summer of 2005. The facility is specially designed to meet the end-of-life needs of hospice patients and their families in a home-like setting.

“Community philanthropy is key to the success of any capital campaign. Over the years, HRH has demonstrated their leadership and philanthropic support of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is a number of ways, including key individuals serving in volunteer leadership roles within the agency. It came as no surprise that HRH was among the first businesses to come forward with a gift to the campaign.” said Kim Wettlaufer, capital campaign chairman.
