AUBURN – Foster Grandparent Peggy Tardif received a service award presented by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, in recognition of her commitment to strengthening the nation and for making a difference through volunteer service.

She received a letter of appreciation from the council as well as a letter from President George Bush congratulating her on accomplishing more than 4,000 hours of volunteer work at Washburn School, helping students with their lessons and in countless other ways.

She also received a pin from the President’s Council.
