AUBURN – Roland Leblond Jr. of Auburn has received one of 400 Coca Cola Two-Year College Scholarship for 2004. Leblond is a student in the liberal studies program at Central Maine Community College. He was nominated for the award by the Financial Aid Office at the College.

The scholarship program recognizes students attending two-year degree-granting institutions for their contributions to community service and academic excellence. To qualify, a student must have demonstrated academic success and must have completed 100 hours of community service within the previous 12 months. Leblond has been a volunteer driver for Community Concepts for the past two years.

Michael Roy, director of financial aid at the college, nominated Leblond because of his hard work, determination and excellent academic record.

Dean of Students Charles Collins said, “Roland is the kind of student that enriches all of us here at the college. His ability to attend college full-time, have a job and participate in his community is an inspiration to a lot of people. We are very pleased that the people at Coca Cola have recognized his efforts.”
