PARIS – The SAD 17 school board, the Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club and the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Student Council honored teacher Jennifer Hymes recently at a board meeting as November Staff Member of the Month.
Hymes began teaching in the Oxford Hills School District in 1996. She teaches special education at the Guy Rowe Elementary School in Norway.
George Sincerbeaux, Rowe principal, who nominated her, describes Hymes as a teacher who “is the person other elementary schools call for an opinion, she is that respected.”
In addition to being the school’s behavioral specialist, Hymes has run Rowe’s Homework Club two afternoons a week on her own time and has done so for years.
She received $100 from the Student Council and her name has been added to the plaque sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Norway-Paris.
