AUBURN – Alice Adelaide Coolidge, 86, of Poland died Wednesday, Nov. 24 at Clover Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Wakefield, Mass. on March 14, 1918, the daughter of Perley B. and Mary Alice Lambert White. She attended school in Mass. and at North Yarmouth Academy. She also attended business college. She spent many summers on the farm in Waterboro, tending to her pet donkey “Kitty”. She had been employed at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Conn. and she modeled fur coats at Fox’s in Hartford as well. She had been a homemaker all of her life. She loved ceramic dolls, sewing and making cookies for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Hartford, Conn. She married Wilbur H. Coolidge on April 25, 1953.

She is survived by her husband of Poland; a son, Jeff and wife, Verna of Mechanic Falls; a daughter, Joyce Cass and husband, Jerry of Poland; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion and Dorothy and two brothers, Horace and Herbert.
