DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Nov. 17 at the Legion Hall. President Connie Tutlis presided with 86 present.

Observing a November anniversary were Rene and Geneva Raymond, 39 years; November birthdays, Geneva Raymond, Robert Dunham, Beverly Childs, Bernadette Arsenault, Omer Breton, Henry Dupill, Maurice Lescault, Estella Glover and Leroy LeBlanc. Obie Waugh was recognized as being the oldest member present at age 98.

A roll call taken found the following present in each age bracket: 80’s, 27 present; 70’s, 33 present; 60’s, 20 present; 50’s, 4 present. Winners of the door prizes were Beverly Childs and Nell Dragulin and winner of Henrietta the Hen, Lorette Chabot. Entertainment was provided by Barry Wood.

A sign-up sheet was present for the trip to Disney on Ice, a March 14 trip to Indian Head for the St Patrick’s show and the April 28 and 29 trip to Foxwoods-Mohegan Sun. Anyone interested is asked to call Connie at 364-4189. It was announced there were a few seats available also for the Dec. 6 trip to Indian Head for the Christmas show.

It was announced that an Elder Issues event will take place on Dec. 7 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall. Presenter will be Deborah Gorham, RN, and the program will be “Delicious and Healthy Holiday Treats.” Anyone interested in attending is asked to call the Elsemore Clinic in Dixfield.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15, with a potluck dinner being served at noon. Members are asked to bring items for the annual Christmas fair. The 2005 membership cards will be available for anyone wishing to pay. Membership in the Neighborly Seniors is open to anyone age 50 and over at a fee of $5 a year.
