Concert on green

MEXICO – The Mexico United Church of Christ, (the Green Church), 163 Main St., invites the community to share in “A Concert at the Green” on Sunday, Dec. 12, with the senior choir and the guest musicians of the Mahoosuc Community Band of Bethel.

The concert will begin at 4 p.m., and a freewill offering will be taken to defray music expenses for the church and the band. There will be a reception with refreshments after in Fellowship Hall.

The Mahoosuc Community Band is comprised of about 30 members who practice in Bethel, but has drawn, for the past 10 years, on members from a much larger region. The band has adults and some students whose goal is “to just have fun and play music together.”

Under the direction of Patricia Boyle-Wight, music for the concert will include seasonal favorites. The senior choir will sing several songs, there will be a Christmas sing-along and possibly a few surprises from the Snapp-Cunningham family. For more information, call 364-8603.
