LEWISTON – Marion E. Collins, 88, formerly of Riverside Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Marshwood Center for Health Care.

She was born in Brownfield, Nov. 23, 1916, the daughter of Arthur G. and Grace F. Marston Walker.

She was educated in Brownfield schools and graduated from Bean Memorial High School as Valedictorian of her class then attended Gray’s Business School in Portland.

She was married in 1948 to Leonard H. Collins who predeceased her in 1977.

She was employed as an administrative assistant for Western Area Agency on Aging prior to her retirement in 1994.

She attended the Auburn United Methodist Church and was a member of the Women’s Literary Union Garden Club, was treasurer of the Rebekah Fidelity Lodge, treasurer of the Lewiston Historical Commission, vice president of the Lewiston Chapter of AARP, and a member of the Circle of the Lewiston United Baptist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts and was an avid reader.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan G. Mills and husband, Charles E., of Morrill; a son, John L. Collins and wife, Cheryl, of Sugar Land, Texas; five grandchildren, Trevor J., Maggie E. and Mason D. Mills, and John M. and Grace W. Collins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Albert M. Walker, in 1996.
