AUBURN – An informational open house will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the United Methodist Church.

All those interested in learning more about the Music Together program are invited to attend for a taste of music-making and holiday fun. The program will last approximately 45 minutes and is open to ages birth to age 4. All are invited.

Classes for children ages newborns to 4 are offered in Auburn, Greene and Turner.

Music Together is a music and movement approach to early childhood that develops every child’s opportunity for basic music competency, encouraging music experience rather than learning information about music.

Families are encouraged to attend class together, so younger children and older children in the same family can learn music and movement activities to enjoy at home.

In a class, 12 children and their parents or caregivers meet for 45 minutes each week for 10 weeks to experience new songs, chants, movement activities and instrumental jam sessions.

Registration for the winter semester is open. Classes begin the week of Jan. 5 and run for 10 weeks. They will be offered at 4:15 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 and 10:15 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays at the United Methodist Church, Park Avenue. Other classes are offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays in Turner and at 9 and 10:15 a.m. Fridays in Greene. To register for classes or for more information, contact Sue Barre at 795-0755 or suebarre@localnet.com.
