FARMINGTON – Ira L. “Bug” Hatch Jr., 77, of Wilton, died unexpectedly shortly upon arrival at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington, Sunday evening, Dec. 5.
Born in Oakland, May 2, 1927, the son of Ira Lester and Florence (Bickford) Hatch Sr., he received his education in Wilton schools.
He married the former Roaine Frost.
He was employed at Frost Cedar Products until he became disabled. He also was a truck and stock car driver.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Roaine Frost Hatch, of Wilton; seven children, Harland Clemens and his wife, Nancy, of Chesterville, Hazel Flagg and her husband, Lincoln, of Wilton, Lillian Messier of Jay, Lester Hatch and his wife, Helen, of Scarborough, William Hatch Sr. of Connecticut, Marth Andrews and her husband, Fred, of New Portland, and Alan Hatch Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Farmington; three sisters, Ethel Knowles of Lebanon, and Annie Buker and Elaine Watson, both of New Hampshire; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Crockett and Gloria Tibbits; and one great-grandson, Dwight Flagg.
