AUBURN – Court Street Baptist Church will present a musical drama, “Never Too Old for Christmas,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12.

The musical, from the pen of Joe E. Parks, tells the story of an older woman who feels that she is too old to prepare for the Christmas season. Encouragement of Christmas carolers and her church choir director caused her to realize that Christmas is for all ages.

Christmas party

AUBURN – Nor’Easter Maine Chapter, M.I. Hummel Club, will hold a Christmas party and raffle at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at the home of Arlene Hawkins, 4 Barkley Ave. Visitors are always welcome as are new members. Fidelity lodge

AUBURN – Fidelity Rebekah Lodge will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Odd Fellows Hall, corner of Elm and Academy streets. Members will make care packages for shut-ins and collect for Camp Sunshine.

All Rebekah members are encouraged to attend. There will be refreshments served prior to the meeting at 6:30 p.m., provided under the direction of Ellen Parady.

LEWISTON – Henry Grenier Sr. will present “Keyboard Magic” when the members of the National Association of Retired Employees hold a holiday party at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Ramada Inn.

Grenier will provide music from the 1940s to the 1980s, including Christmas favorites, during lunch and after for anyone who would like to sing along or dance.

Grenier has provided music for area restaurants, nursing homes and organizations as well as cruise ships. Among the festivities will be a raffle of gifts. President Sue Stetson will preside at a brief business meeting after the noon luncheon.

Open house

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Falls Christian Academy will have an open house from 8:30 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Dec. 15. The school teachers grades kindergarten through 12, using curriculum from the School of Tomorrow/ACE. The school has been in operating since 1974 and is a ministry of the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. Divorce Care

LEWISTON – A Divorce Care group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 62 Strawberry Ave. The course gives practical answers for such topics as anger, depression, loneliness and kid care. The cost of $15 covers the cost of materials. In addition, a light meal is provided. For more information, call the church office at 784-0034 on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons.

OES program

WALES – Lakeside Chapter 60, OES, will gather to celebrate a “White Christmas” on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Wales Grange/Masonic Building, 322 Centre Road. There will be a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. and a meeting at 7:30. Members are reminded to bring their gifts for veterans.

In November Worthy Matron Violet Gerber and Past Matron Rowena Wright visited Colleen Saunders to present her a life membership.

Worthy Matron and Secretary Elizabeth Leighton visited the Wales Elementary School. A check was presented to Librarian Audrey Walker and Vice Principal Kathy Kaufman for the library.

Members are reminded that Lakeside Chapter will be in recess for January and February. The next scheduled meeting will be March 8, when another potluck dinner will be held before the annual meeting and election of officers.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 6 were: N/S, first, Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett; second, Grace and Luke Merry; third, Betty and Doug Sise; fourth, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Beegel.
