PARIS – Merry Shore will lead the worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, Sunday, Dec. 12. Shore’s sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “Time Out,” during which she will talking about “coping with this busy Thanksgiving-to-Christmas season.”

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Sunday school will be in session under the direction of Renee Wales. Child care will be provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Childbirth class

BRIDGTON – In response to requests from mothers-to-be for a condensed version of the eight-week childbirth class, Bridgton Hospital will offer an eight-hour, one-day, Saturday session from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 8.

The class will include lunch. Fee is $30 a person or $60 a couple, which is usually covered by healthcare insurance. The class will focus on the process of labor, delivery, Cesarean birth, pain relief in labor and relaxation. It will be taught by Judy Barlow, RN, certified childbirth educator.
