RAYMOND – The Raymond-Casco Historical Society spent last year applying for grants and planning to catalogue a 30-year collection of material and objects by the society.

The society was awarded a grant from the Davis Foundation and one from the town of Raymond, making it possible to start work on what appears to be a lifetime occupation for the members, who have worked with a local consultant to insure efforts are directed in a buildable fashion into the future.

Due to the year of planning and preparation, members have catalogued most of the objects in the museum and the collection, but still search for added information on the items.

Having completed listing the residents of each cemetery, they are searching for additional data, such as obituaries, personal data and property data. Anyone who has collections of obituaries, property data, is asked to call Elizabeth Bullen, curator, at 998-3123 for donations or copies.

A member established and funded an endowment, which has already been added to by several other members. If anyone is able to help, they should mail a check to Raymond-Casco Historical Society Endowment, attention Treasurer Betty McDermott, McDermott Drive, Raymond, ME 04071.
