LEWISTON – The Auburn Community Band, under the direction of Milt Simon, will present its 24th annual holiday concert Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Olin Arts Center, Bates College. The 90-minute program will begin at 7 p.m.

The 54-member band is comprised of volunteer musicians from 15 central and southern Maine communities, who range in age from 13 to 79. They will perform traditional and contemporary holiday favorites, including three songs celebrating the Jewish holiday of Chanukah.

In lieu of admission, those attending the free concert will have the opportunity to drop a donation into the Salvation Army Kettle, which will be located in the lobby. All money donated that evening will be used to help local area residents in need of assistance.
