LEWISTON – Philippe Moreau, Rainbow Federal Credit Union president, presented a check for $1,000 to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice’s Journey of Hope Campaign for the new hospice house. Joining him were David McDaniel, AHCH president/CEO, and Kim Wettlaufer, AHCH Capital Campaign chairman.

“Rainbow Federal Credit Union is pleased to support the efforts of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice to build a hospice facility in our community,” said Moreau.

Construction began in early November on the 14-patient suite hospice house located on Stetson Road in Auburn. It is anticipated to be complete in August 2005. AHCH expects to welcome the first patient in September. The facility is specially designed to meet the end-of-life care needs of hospice patients and their families in a home-like setting.

The agency is nonprofit Medicare-certified and annually provides comprehensive hospice care to more that 500 residents of central and western Maine through its offices in Lewiston, Bridgton, Dixfield, Oxford and Wilton. For more information, visit the Web at www.AHCH.org.
