PARIS – Students of the Month for December at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School are Jason Edmunds, freshman; Lauren Damon, sophomore; Jennifer Johnson, junior; and Kari Sawyer, senior. This year begins the fifth year of the Rotary Club’s sponsorship of the program.

Each month high school staff members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their classroom.” The goal of the program is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship. The program is coordinated through the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange by Maureen Howard, exchange director.

The four students were praised for their academically successful efforts, involvement in bringing anti-tobacco education to middle school students and their consistent reliability in the classroom.

The students’ names and picture are placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library. In addition, each month the four students have “pizza with the principal” and at the end of the year all of the students are honored at a Rotary breakfast.
