LEWISTON – Rob Callahan has been named assistant director for Lewiston Adult Education, succeeding Betty Gundersdorf, who was recently promoted to the position of director.

Callahan served most recently as assistant dean of student affairs at Babson College. In that capacity he collaborated with a variety of administrative and faculty resources to implement a wide range of student services, including athletics, student activities and housing, academic advisement and curriculum planning, health services, the arts, public safety, spiritual life and multicultural programs.

Additional responsibilities included teaching, budget management, supervision of student service learning experiences and working on strategic technology planning for instructional and administrative campus-wide needs.

Prior to Babson, Callahan held positions as assistant dean of students, coordinator of international programs and assistant director of student activities at Assumption College. He also worked as systems consultant for a computer center, developing comprehensive strategic technology plans, which encompassed hardware/software, training and education and assessment plans.

Callahan earned a bachelor of arts in English and politics and a master of business administration at Assumption College. He is married with three children. Callahan is no stranger to the community as his wife’s parents reside in Lewiston.

Gundersdorf remarked, “We are very excited to have Rob as part of our LAE team. His varied skills will enrich our programs and help us to broaden our vision for the future.”
