PARIS – Members of the Paris Conservation Commission are wondering whether their board should continue to operate alone.

At a meeting Tuesday, the four-member commission expressed frustration with its limited size and the fact that many conservation areas, such as local walking trails, already fall under the auspices of the Paris Parks and Recreation Committee.

Not for the first time, the commission agreed to approach the Parks and Recreation Committee with a merger proposal.

“We need to do something, otherwise we’re all going to drop out,” said commission member Gail Brusoe.

Member Debbie St. Pierre admitted that she is “bored.”

Brusoe said the commission may be able to serve as a subcommittee to the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Chairman Stewart Mason was appointed the task of speaking with the Parks and Recreation Committee and agreed to do so before setting a date for the commission’s next meeting.
