Society party
RUMFORD – The Acadian Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in the St. Athanasius and St. John Parish Center for the annual Christmas party.
Members should bring a gift to exchange and something to share for the dinner. There will be a short meeting with election of officers.

RUMFORD – The women of Stephens High School class of 1948 will meet at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Penalty Box, Exchange Street.

Church services
MEXICO – With Jesus as the reason for the season, the Mexico United Church of Christ, Green Church, at 163 Main St., is planning special services of worship during December. Sunday, Dec. 19, will be Christmas Sunday and along with the regular 10 a.m. worship service, the youth will present a Christmas pageant called “The Night of Stars” as part of the service. There will be a Fellowship Hall coffee time with a birthday cake for Jesus.
