FARMINGTON – Rodolphus B. “Spud” Mason, 81, of Farmington Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 16, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1923, in New Sharon, a son of Fred R. and E. Marguerite Allen Mason.

He married the former Carolyn Tolman, Dec. 6, 1944, at Bean’s Corner, Jay.

He was educated in the schools of Farmington Falls and Farmington.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Mason was a lifelong dairy farmer.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn, of 60 years, he is survived by a daughter, Debra Mason and her husband, Joe Dugay, of Farmington Falls; a son, Ronald Mason, and his wife, Linda, of Farmington Falls; two sisters, Marin Whittier of Farmington, Methel Pazdersky of Stamford, Conn.; two grandsons, Adam Mason and his wife, Kristin, of Farmington Falls, and Robin Mason of Farmington Falls; one great-grandson, Henry Mason of Farmington Falls; a brother-in-law, the Rev. John R. Tolman Sr. and his wife, Jane, of New Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.
