BETHEL – Sean Cadigan poured in a game-high 20 points and recorded eight steals to lead Telstar to a triumphant 74-49 win over Georges Valley in boys’ basketball action Monday.

Telstar broke open the contest in the third quarter, out-scoring Georges Valley 22-10 to give the Rebels a 59-39 advantage going into the final quarter.

Ryan Savage added 17 points, while August Reiss chipped in with 15 for the Rebels.

Georges Valley was led by Max Johanson with 16 points, while Matt Judkins added 11.

Lisbon 61, Monmouth 41

MONMOUTH — Levi Irvin and Brendan McGivney scored 14 points apiece to spark Lisbon to an easy 61-41 victory over Monmouth in a boys’ varsity basketball matchup Monday.

Scott Ogden led the Mustangs (0-4) with eight points, while Ben Seafeltt added seven points. The Greyhounds improved to 2-2.

Boothbay 62, Winthrop 58

WINTHROP – Chris Noonan drained 26 points as Boothbay edged Winthrop 62-58 in MVC boys’ basketball Monday evening.

Winthrop recovered from an 11-point deficit in the third quarter, but couldn’t overcome the Boothbay advantage. The Seahawks sealed the victory with free throws down the stretch.

Owen Johnson added 17 points for the Seahawks (3-1). The Ramblers (1-2) were paced by Mike Gingris with 26 points and six steals.

Wells 59, Poland 53

POLAND — Brandon Hodson racked up 18 points to help Wells hang on to beat Poland 59-53 in boys’ varsity basketball play on Monday.

The Warriors showed late defensive determination to fend off a surging Poland offense, which scored more than half of its points in the fourth quarter. With the victory Wells improve to 3-2 on the season.

Max Levine led all scorers with 20 points for the Knights (3-2) in the losing effort.

Mtn. Valley 77, Livermore Falls 24

LIVERMORE FALLS – Andy Shorey downed 19 points as Mountain Valley overpowered Livermore Falls 77-24 in boys’ basketball action Monday evening.

The Falcons (4-0) shot solidly throughout the contest, as every player scored. Corey Staires and Marcus Palmer scored 14 and 13 points for the win.

The Andies (1-3) were kept to single digit scoring throughout all four quarters. Levi Armandi scored 10 points in the losing effort.

Jay 64, Dirigo 49

JAY — Justin Wells scored a game-high 21 points to send Jay to a 64-49 victory over Dirigo in a boys’ basketball matchup on Monday.

Ryan Dipompo helped the Tigers (2-2) with 14 points and seven assists, while Joel Oullette provided eight points and nine rebounds.

Mike Holmquest scored 14 points for the Cougars (0-4) in the losing effort.

Falmouth 68, Gray-New Gloucester 57

FALMOUTH – Bryant Barr scorched the nets for a game-high 33 points to lift Falmouth to a 68-57 win over Gray-New Gloucester.

Barr scored 18 of the Yachtsmen (2-2) 22 points in the third quarter. Jayson Leranger added 11 points for the win.

Tyler Blanchard and Josh Levasseur each downed 18 points for the Patriots (0-4). Levasseur had 11 rebounds to go with his 18 points.

Mt. Abram 52, Carrabec 51

NORTH ANSON – Aaron Adams dropped in 15 points as Mt. Abram edged past Carrabec in the final moments to notch a 52-51 triumph.

Eric Field added 12 points for the Roadrunners (3-0). Mt. Abram kept the pressure on throughout the game, helping them to slip past the Cobras (0-3).

For Carrabec, Brandon Coutts scored 13 point, while Tim Therrian scored 12 points and hauled down 22 rebounds, 10 of which were offensive.

North Yarmouth Academy 62, St. Dom’s 55

YARMOUTH – Tim Deluca netted 20 points en route to a 62-55 North Yarmouth Academy win over St. Dom’s in boys’ WMC basketball Monday.

NYA (3-1) took a startling 19-1 lead in the first quarter, before St. Dom’s settled down and slowly chipped away. The Panthers finally pulled away in the fourth quarter to capture the win.

Brian Chin added 19 points, while Charles Fear chipped in with 14 for NYA.

The Saints (1-2) were led by Justin Fongemie and Andy Allen with 19 points apiece.

Hockey

Gorham 6, Windale 4

GORHAM — Mark Schmidt had two goals and an assist to help carry Gorham to a 6-4 victory over Windale (Winthrop and Hall-Dale) in varsity hockey action.

Colby Keene also had a goal and an assist for the Rams (2-1-1). Gorham goalie Eric Chaisson was solid in the net turning away 26 of 30 shots on goal.

Nate Frechette scored twice for Windale.
