LEWISTON – “Yes I Can” is again the theme for the upcoming semester at Lewiston Adult Education. Close to 150 classes will be offered designed to help students gain self-confidence and have fun as they learn new skills or hobbies.

The semester will begin the week of Jan. 24 and new classes will start each week through May 23. Brochures will be mailed to all Lewiston-Auburn residents the week of Jan. 3 and class listings will be posted on the Web site at www.lewistonadulted.org. Registration will begin at that time.

New classes this semester include hip hop dance, Sensational Pastries and Desserts, Hot Travel Destinations, Visual Basics for Applications, the Skinny on Fad Diets, Study Drawings, Tournament Scrabble, Emotional Freedom Technique, Bargain Travel, Learn to Knit, How to Make Dreamcatchers and Acting. There will also be some March 5 “Super Saturday” classes.

Lewiston Adult Education has also redesigned its certificate programs to give students a competitive edge in seeking new employment, a promotion or career transition. It now offers clerical, medical office and accounting assistant certificates. In addition, the college transition, high school diploma and ESOL programs will continue.
