AUBURN – The members of Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St., for a social time. Snacks will be provided by Esther Tucker.

During the 7 p.m. meeting, observance of the birthday of Thomas Wildey, founder of Odd Fellowship in America, who was born Jan. 15, 1783, will be presented by Thomas MacDonald. The history of the Ellen T. Washburn Nurses Training Award will be told by Priscilla Campbell.

A collection will be taken to add to the funds of the Rebekah Assembly and the Grand Lodge IOOF of Maine that make the awards possible. In 2004 twenty $200 awards were given. Applications for one of these awards are available to any student enrolled in an approved RN nursing program in a Maine school. Applications are available at high schools and colleges. Fortier chapter

LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Amricaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center. Following the monthly business meeting there will be refreshments and a social hour.

Sodality to meet

LEWISTON – Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church will hold recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the chapel followed by a meeting in Msgr. Gleason Hall. Coffee and dessert will be served at the close of the meeting.

AUBURN – First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. At 10 a.m. the board of directors will meet. Following the meeting and bag lunch, bingo will be played.

Members held their Christmas dinner at Martindale Country Club on Dec. 15 and a musical program was presented by Mary Murphy Dubois. Pot of gold winners were Shirley Montgomery, Ralph Sylvester, Nancy Roy, Nelson Edwards, Annette Lee, Theresa Greenleaf, Dick Brushwein and Mariette Timberlake.

Legion meeting

LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley Post 66, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Slovak Meeting Room, Avery Street. All members, prospective members and active-duty personnel are invited. The agenda will include discussion of the local and county oratorical contest.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 27 were: first, Martine Begert and Bill Begert; second, Allie Boyer and Barbara Beegel; third, Betty and Doug Sise; fourth, Dick Allen and Don Johnson; fifth, Lucille Bilodeau and Roger Briggs.

An eight-week beginner bridge class will be offered at the Multi-Purpose Center from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, Jan. 24. Call the Senior Citizen Office at 784-2926 to register. The class is open to the public.
