LISBON – Junior forward Levi Ervin had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Lisbon to a 50-44 win over Livermore Falls in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Greyhounds (4-3) were deadlocked at the half, 20-20, but came out firing in the third quarter with a 19-12 run. Senior forward Chris Kates chipped in with 12 points for Lisbon.

Senior guards Brad Bryant and Levi Armandi each scored 12 points for the Andies in the loss.

Gould 55, Hyde 52

BETHEL – T.J. Savage had a spectacular outing with 28 points to lift Gould to a narrow 55-52 win over Hyde Academy in boys’ basketball action Saturday.

Savage recorded 12 field goals, including three from beyond the arc for Gould (1-1). Karl Olson pitched in with 3-of-5 field goals from the 3-point variety as well, for 17 points in the winning effort.

Hall-Dale 57, Jay 46

JAY – Matt Wheelock and Jay Skillings each scored 15 points as Hall-Dale downed Jay 57-46 in MVC basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs (6-0) used tight man-to-man defensive pressure in the fourth quarter to gain a 17-4 advantage. Matt Wheelock scored nine of his 15 points in the decisive run to put the game out of reach.

The Tigers (3-5) were led by Shane Bourgault with 13 points and Justin Wells who chipped in with 11.

Hockey
EL 9, Lawrence 1

AUBURN – Forwards Matt Nadeau and Dustin Nadeau each scored a pair of goals to pace Edward Little to a 9-1 rout over Lawrence in hockey action Saturday.

The Red Eddies (5-4) came out strong, leveling 16 shots on goal and scoring four times in the first period.

Down 7-0 late in the second period, the Bulldogs spoiled the shutout behind a power-play goal by Josh Mitchell at the 14:28 mark.

Girls’ basketball
Sacopee 49, Buckfield 41

SOUTH HIRAM – Junior forward Michelle Libby drained nine field goals for 18 points to lead Sacopee Valley to a 49-41 victory over Buckfield in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Hawks received fine offensive support from Katie Pike and Melissa Verrill, who scored 17 and 10 points, respectively.

Freshman guard Alyssa Henderson nailed three field goals from beyond the arc in the second half, but the Bucks (3-7) simply ran out of steam down the stretch. Junior forward Shayna Shackford tallied 10 points to match Henderson’s effort.
