AUBURN – A new slate of officers for Ancient Brothers Lodge 178, AF and AM, will be installed at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

Richard Provencal will be installed worshipful master for 2005. Barry Gates, district deputy grand master, and his team will install the new officers.

The installation will be preceded by a supper at 6:30 p.m. All Masons, Eastern Star and friends are welcome.

Lodge meeting

AUBURN – A meeting Liberty Lodge will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home of Maine activities room, 85 Caron Lane.

All residents of the home are invited. After the meeting, games will be played and refreshments will be served. All Rebekahs and friends or anyone else interested in participating will be welcome.

YWCA training

LEWISTON – A YWCA family mediation project, “Advanced Conflict Management for Parents of Teens!,” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 19 through Feb. 11.

The free four-week course will be taught by June Zellers, through Lewiston Adult Education. The course will give parents the opportunity to practice what they already know, working through role plays, games and other activities to reinforce conflict resolution techniques.

Hospice training

LEWISTON – Hospice volunteer training will begin in February for anyone who has time to visit with folks in the Lewiston/Auburn area who are beginning their end-of-life journeys.

The class will explore the issues around society’s response to death and dying, hospice philosophy, pain management and family dynamics.

Relief walk-athon

WINTHROP – Winthrop High School will hold a Tsunami Relief Walk-A-Thon from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Manchester YMCA.

Students, faculty and community members will join forces to collect money to send to the victims of the Tsunami in Southeast Asia. Donations can be made to Winthrop school. The money raised will be sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 10 were: N/S, first, Mimi Bell and Nancy Farmer; second, Claire Tewhey and Luke Merry; third, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver.
