CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Pau Gasol scored 19 points and James Posey came off the bench to add 17 to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 109-89 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.

The Grizzlies, who started the season 9-15, have now won 10 of their last 13 games. Memphis had six players in double figures, and everyone in uniform scored at least one point. Shane Battier scored 15, Jason Williams had 14 and Earl Watson and Stromile Swift added 10 each.

Emeka Okafor had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Bobcats, who were unusually flat from start to finish.

Charlotte takes pride in at least playing hard through its losses. But coming off a two-day layoff since their 100-98 overtime loss at Cleveland on Tuesday night, the Bobcats never led and let the officiating frustrate them.

Gerald Wallace was called for a fourth-quarter technical foul during a timeout, and his teammates appeared to be hanging their heads in defeat as coach Bernie Bickerstaff argued the call.

Bickerstaff was frustrated with the officiating through most of the first half, and it just about boiled over as the teams headed to the locker room for intermission.

Memphis threw a long pass downcourt the was deflected as the clock was winding down. Andre Emmett grabbed the ball, but his shot was blocked by Wallace at what appeared to be the buzzer.

The officials initially did nothing as the teams headed to the locker room. Then Ron Garretson called Wallace for a foul, and had to review the play to see if it happened before the buzzer.

When he determined 0.3 seconds remained and called the teams back, Bickerstaff glared down the court. Emmett made one free throw for a 58-44 Memphis lead, and Bickerstaff almost had to be coaxed off the court by one of his assistants.

The Grizzlies used 12-for-19 second-quarter shooting to build their lead. They were bound to cool off, and did briefly in the third quarter. Charlotte trailed just 73-64 with 3:00 to play in the third when Memphis used a quick 11-2 run to pull away.

Gasol scored on a basket and free throw, and Posey made a pair of free throws. He then hit a 3, and after a Charlotte turnover, Swift dunked to open an 84-66 lead.

Notes: Charlotte center Jahidi White did not dress because of neck spasms. … Memphis’s Brian Cardinal was out with a sprained right shoulder. … The Bobcats offered $50 in “Bobcats Bucks” to the fan who filled out the most All-Star ballots during the game. The money could be spent on tickets or in the team store.
