LEWISTON – John Isaacson, CEO of Lee Auto Malls, presented a $5,000 gift to Androscoggin Home Care’s Hospice House capital campaign.

“Lee Auto Malls is pleased to make this gift as part of our continued commitment in supporting outstanding local organizations,” said Isaacson.

To date, the Journey of Hope Campaign has received support from more than 1,200 individuals, foundations, businesses, civic and fraternal groups. It expects to reach the $1.5 million goal by March.

Construction on the 14-patient suite hospice house, located on Stetson Road, Auburn, began in early November and has a planned opening of fall 2005. The facility is designed to care for the needs of patients in the final weeks of life when hospice care at home is no longer possible.

“We are delighted by Lee Auto Malls’ very generous gift to the Hospice House campaign,” said Kim Wettlaufer, capital campaign chairman. He said, “We feel very fortunate that Lee Auto Malls has recognized the value the hospice house will bring to those in the community facing the end of life, and chose to come forward with a gift.”

Lee Auto Malls operates 10 new and used car dealerships in southern Maine representing 15 new car and truck franchises. The company was founded in 1936.
