LISBON FALLS – Lisbon Adult and Community Education still has openings for classes starting in late January and early February.

Beginning and Continuing Yoga classes will start Tuesday, Feb. 1, and meet for 10 weeks. Beginning will be held from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. and Continuing from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

A First Aid/CPR class, which provides American Red Cross certification, will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. for three weeks beginning Monday, Feb. 7.

A Smart Meals, Busy Families course will be taught by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension from 6 to 8 p.m. for eight weeks starting Tuesday, Feb. 1. The class includes free child care. A meal is prepared and the children join their parents for the meal. The class is limited to 12.

College prep and college pre-requisite courses are offered for adults who are planning to enter college or other post-secondary programs. A math refresher class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. for eight weeks. It began Tuesday, Jan. 25. An English refresher class will meet for eight weeks from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Wednesday, Jan. 26. College prerequisite courses include Algebra I, Conceptual Physics and Biology with Lab.

A basic drawing class for new and continuing students started Jan. 25 and will meet for eight weeks from 6 to 8 p.m.

A Family Valentine Workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9. The class is appropriate for children ages 4 through 12 accompanied by an adult.

A writing fiction workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and start on Thursday, Jan. 27. The workshop will provide an informal environment for people interested in writing to share their work and ideas.

An American Red Cross certified baby-sitting class will begin on Thursday, Feb. 3, for seven weeks. The class will meet at Sugg Middle School from 6 to 8 p.m., and participants must be at least 11 at the end of the class. Training includes child and infant CPR certification.

A keyboarding class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Wednesday, Jan. 26, for eight weeks. An Intermediate Word class began Jan. 24. The class will cover mail merge options, tables, graphics and newsletters as well as the handling of special documents. The pre-requisite is a Beginning Word class or basic knowledge of Word.

A Business Communication class began Tuesday, Jan. 25, for 10 weeks from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will learn how to get a point across simply and effectively and how to persuade and motivate others.

Learn Web page design from the ground up in a Web Page Authoring class, which will start Feb. 1 and run for 10 weeks from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will plan and create a Web site, including graphics, links, tables and forms. A Computer for Beginners class and an Introduction to Office class will start in early March.
