Beginner Hip-Hop: From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Feb. 1; $40; series runs Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22, d’Youville Resident Dining Room. The class will teach the basics while dancing to some of the latest hip-hop and R&B music. Taught by dancer Amber Wandell. No dance experience is required; wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Space is limited. Prepayment is required.

Wear Red Fashion Show: at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, $20. “Because heart health is always in style,” local cardiologist Dr. Dervilla McCann will host a Wear Red Fashion Show where attendees will have heart-healthy hors d’oeuvres and a red wine tasting, education on women’s heart health and a style show modeled by area physicians.

Physician models will include Dr. Kit Gardner, obstetrician/gynecologist; Chris Gillis, certified nurse midwife, and her daughter, Hanna; Dr. Inga Johannesson, internist; Dr. Carolyn Kase, family practitioner, and her daughter, Maggie; Dr. Renee Lewis, obstetrician/gynecologist; McCann; Dr. Amy Parker, emergency room physician; Dr. Amber Pena, internist; and Dr. Diane Wallace, emergency room physician.

Space is limited. Tickets can be purchased by calling 777-8808. Feb. 4 is the American Heart Association National Wear Red Day.

“The New Language of Eating” luncheon: noon Friday, Feb. 4, $5. Cardiologist Dr. Dervilla McCann will provide an introduction to the new language of eating with emphasis on the facts and the fads behind fats.

The presentation will be accompanied by a heart-healthy meal. The luncheon will be held at the Lepage Conference Center. The charge includes the meal. Preregistration is required by calling 777-8759.

“Tips for Finding the Right College”: at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. Learn the role of the parent in facilitating the search, how to guide a college-bound student, what the process entails and ways to simplify the college search.

Hypnotherapy for Weight Loss Series: at 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, Feb. 9, $40. Series runs Feb. 9, 16, 23 and March 2. Facilitated by Valerie St. Clair, a certified hypnotherapist in practice for three years. Space is limited. Prepayment is required.

“Foot Maintenance for the Long Haul”: at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb 10, free, d’Youville dining room. Part of the Successful Aging Series. There will be a discussion on common foot problems associated with aging and strategies to keep feet healthy and happy. Presented by podiatrist Dr. Daniel Buck. Preregister by calling 777-8823.
