TURNER – Leavitt Area High School will host the Maine Music Educators Association District II Instrumental Honors Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4 and 5. The festival will conclude with a concert at 4 p.m. Saturday at the school gym.

The festival will feature 270 of the area’s most talented instrumental music students in grades seven through 12.

Thirty-five schools will participate, which will represent many of the communities in Androscoggin, Cumberland and Oxford counties. The students will participate in one of four ensembles: a high school band, high school orchestra, middle school band or middle school orchestra.

The cost of admission is $5 per person or $10 per family. Each ensemble will be led by a guest conductor. The participating students were required to audition for the festival in October and have spent the last month preparing.
