LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley Post 66, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Slovak Meeting Room, Avery Street. All members, prospective members and active-duty personnel are invited. The agenda will include discussion of the county and district oratorical contests.

Dance lessons

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Recreation Department Multi-Purpose Center will offer an eight-week course in ballroom dancing on Wednesdays staring Feb. 2. It will be taught by Barbara Charles of the American Ballroom Dance Academy.

Beginner Ballroom will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Beginner Latin from 7 to 8 and Intermediate Ballroom and Intermediate Latin from 8 to 9. Those wishing more information should call the Lewiston Recreation Department at 782-5951.

AUBURN – Susan Conroy, author of “Mother Teresa’s Lessons of Love and Secrets of Sanctity,” will discuss her time spent with Mother Teresa at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, in the Schooner Retirement Community Tenants Harbor Room. Those interested in attending should call 784-2900.

LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Amricaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center. Refreshments and a social hour will follow the business meeting. Library workshop

AUBURN – Comic book illustrator and creator of the “Parverian Tales,” Michael Jordan, will hold a follow-up workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Auburn Public Library, temporarily located at the Auburn Mall.

Jordan will discuss the use and maintenance of the “tools of the trade.” Participants will learn the technology of Speed Ball pens, Zen page lettering and the best way to get the crusty old ink out of expensive technical pens.

Four chaplains

GRAY – It is time to celebrate the gift of their lives the four chaplains gave to save troops on the U.S. troop ship Dorchester.

The family of the Gray Post 86, American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion, invite the public to attend the Four Chaplains Service at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at the post home, upstairs, at 15 Lewiston Road in Gray.

Widows meeting

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. Fellowship will be followed at noon by a potluck luncheon. All interested widows in the area are invited.

Art club tour

AUBURN – The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb.7, at the former St. Mary’s Church, Lewiston, where Rita Dube will give the members a tour and history of the Franco-American Heritage Center. Hostesses will be Annie Ray, chairwoman, Ruth Farnsworth, Janet Nelson and Claire White.
