PORTLAND – The Maine Home, Remodeling and Garden Show is celebrating its 15th anniversary with this year’s show, Feb. 12 and 13.
The 2005 show features a new “Meet the Chefs” cooking series. Celebrity and area chefs will cook up their favorites in a kitchen studio that features state-of-the-art appliances and cookware. Plus, there will be a sampling session at the end of each cooking demonstration.
More than 150 exhibitors will be set up at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Exhibits will feature a shoppers gallery on the concourse. Vendors in the gallery will include Asiatic and Oriental lily blooms and bulbs from Maplecrest Lilies of Parsonsfield, artist Joseph Cousins and other regional artisans, specialty food products and home-related services.
The main floor will display appliances, décor and home-related products and services. On-going demonstrations will include ones in a home theater and home automation pavilion off the lobby and on the main floor, the cooking show, and home improvement tips and tricks from Rent-A-Husband founder Kaile Warren. Each day from noon to 2 p.m., people from Rent-A-Husband will scoop free samples of Edy’s Grand Ice Cream.
Visitors can enter drawings for a complete set of cookware from Kitchen Craft International, valued at $3,000, and a $1,000 home-theater speaker system from Tru-Audio and Custom Home Theater of Harpswell.
The Maine Home, Remodeling and Garden Show will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13. Admission: $6, adults; $5, seniors over 65; children under 10, free.
