LEWISTON – Stacey Lin Walton and John Paul Backiel were married on July 31 at South Lewiston Baptist Church in Lewiston, with the Rev. David Newman officiating. A reception followed at Lost Valley Ski Lodge in Auburn.

The bride is the daughter of Rosalind and William Walton Jr. of Auburn. The bridegroom is the son of Jack and Judith Backiel of Trumbull, Conn.

The matron of honor was Rena Wilkins, cousin of the bride, and the maid of honor was Julie Backiel, sister of the bridegroom. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Dwinal and Gina Maiorino, high school friends of the bride, and Amie DeRosa, Angela Linsalato and Heidi Niles, college friends of the bride.

The flower girls were Julia and Marisa Wilkins, cousins of the bride. The ring bearers were Camden and Ryley Grigat, cousins of the bride.

The best men were Adam Buxbaum and Timothy Huminski, long-time friends of the bridegroom, and ushers were Roger Leskosvsky and Joseph Martinez, cousins of the bridegroom, and Kevin and Matthew Walton, brothers of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and is currently employed as a teacher at Mystic Valley Charter School in Malden, Mass.

The bridegroom is also a graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and is currently employed at Heritage Bank in Salem, Mass.

The couple honeymooned in Florida and they now reside in their new home in Beverly, Mass.
