OES meeting

AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. The chapter will honor Master Masons. The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome.

AUBURN – Marc Bourgoin and John Grenier will present a free slide show presentation and open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Rainbow Bicycle and Fitness, 1225 Center St.

POWNAL – The public is invited to attend a special weekend of music and preaching with the mixed trio, Set Apart, from New Brunswick Bible Institute and the Rev. Barry Beebe, president of the school, speaking.

Meetings will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 422 Hallowell Rd., at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, with a Valentine dinner by reservation only for a donation, followed by the evening service at 6:30; and the 9:15 a.m. Sunday Feb. 13, worship and praise music, 9:30 a.m. with music by the trio and Beebe speaking, and Sunday school at 11 a.m.

Divorce group

LEWISTON – Those who are divorced or in the process of divorcing, are invited to attend the Divorce and Beyond self-help group, with its trained facilitators.

The eight-week self-help support group will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Holy Cross Rectory starting Feb. 15. Cost is $20, which includes a workbook.

Spelling bee

LEWISTON – The Holy Family Auxiliary will host an adult spelling bee at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, in the church hall, 607 Sabattus St. It is open to the public.

Admission is $1 for audience members, and they will also get a chance to win prizes. The top award for the winning speller will be $1,000.
