PARIS – The Foster-Carroll Post, American Legion, Unit 72 Executive Committee met on Jan. 26 to discuss plans for February.

The monthly potluck supper and business meetings will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, with the supper beginning at 6 p.m.

The public ham supper and sweetheart dance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, with the supper beginning at 5 p.m. and dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door: supper, $6; dance, $6. The Country Lads will provide the music. They will also appear at a dance following the boiled corned beef public dinner on March 12. The supper and dance will be $9.

The auxiliary will hold an inside yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the hall. Tables are available for $10 each by contacting Marilyn Ramsay at 743-5723 and by paying that rental fee in advance. Profit from the sale of items will go to the table renter.

President Virginia Gammon announced the county council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 16, at the hall. Nomination of county officers will be held, and refreshments of finger rolls, dessert bars and coffee will be served. Members of area Legions and units are invited.

A blood drive on Jan. 14 provided 48 pints of blood to the Maine Medical Center. Members who worked on it were M. Ramsay, M. Johnson, V. Gammon, G. Turner, J. Cooney, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamonte and P. Dyer. Seven members have not paid dues; 119 have paid.
