AUBURN – The Auburn VFW will hold its annual contest awards supper at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the post home, 588 Minot Ave.

The lasagna supper will be prepared by post Commander Thomas Trottier and the Voice of Democracy Committee. Awards will be presented to the Voice of Democracy winners, Bryan Bilodeau of Lewiston High School and Brian Gleason of Edward Little High School, and the Patriots Pen contest winner, Samantha Maheux, Auburn Middle School eighth-grader.

Post and auxiliary members, winners and their families and a representative from the Auburn Wal-Mart have been invited. Those attending are asked to call Don Linscott at 782-6873 or the post at 783-2561 from 2 to 6 p.m.

The regular meeting of the post and auxiliary will start at 7. Reports will be given on the service office and the results of the breakfasts to raise funds for Auburn Blue Christmas, the New Auburn Little League and the Memorial Day parade.

Adjutant Arthur Roy will report on the Nominating Committee. Nominations will be made at the March meeting and election will take place at the April meeting. Anyone who wants to run for office is asked to contact Roy. A report will be given on the Poppy Drive at Wal-Mart on May 29 and 30.
